Alison Krauss was born July 23rd, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois. She and LeAnn Kymes were among the youngest winners of the Grammy Award. Alison Maria Krauss - born July 23rd 1971 - is an American bluegrass and country singer. She started working in the music business at a very young age. at the age of 10 she was a winner in local competitions and made her first album. She was signed in 1985 with Rounder Records. Her first solo album debuted in 1987. The album was also a part of the band Alison Krauss Union Station where she still performs. Then, in 1989 her debut solo album was released together with them.
